Who is the human behind this weirdo electronic pop album? Who knows… Well, I do, but I am totally not going to tell you. This fifth Long Lost release, on the cards for a long time in a few different shapes and forms, is finally available to grab. A C30 consisting of ten interesting electronic tracks, which scrape the goodness out of 90s pop and smear it over delicious modern beats and production. Made in an addition of 50 red hand-numbered cassettes, they feature lovely (lovely [lovely]) cover design by good friend Fuchsia. Download it for €5 (all money going to the artist), or buy the tape for €6 (+ €1.50 postage to Ireland, €2.50 abroad) which includes a download code (of course!).
This is the second Porn On Vinyl album that I (Aidan Wall [Hipster Youth]) have made in my nice suburban bedroom so far. This 11 track album was written and recorded over a two year period between August 2008 and October 2010. I started it when I was 17 and was finally happy with it aged 19. The delay was generally due to procrastination and self-doubt, but that’s just how it goes sometimes, and I’m really proud of how it turned out. It is available as a free download from bandcamp. 50 deluxe packages consisting of the album on tape, a poster, a lyrics zine and a 17 track bonus CD-R were made and are now SOLD OUT. My room is a mess at the moment, so there is a small chance I may have one or two unaccounted for, if you really want one, email me and I’ll put yr name on one if it surfaces [arse.on.toast{at}gmail.com].
The man behind Western Homes, a very good friend of mine, released my favourite Irish album last year online for free via Rack and Ruin records. To the people who heard it, it was a thrilling highlight, which failed to meet many end of year lists due to the simple fact not many got to hear it. I am very proud to be physically re-releasing this chilling lo-fi electropop album. The 9 track album can be downloaded for free via Rack and Ruin records here, but this super limited cassette contains an exclusive bonus 10th track; Entry Level Synth Pop, especially recorded for this cassette release! The cassette comes with a download code and some nifty fold out packaging! And only 30 hand numbered packages will ever be made ever (ever)! For just €6 + packaging (€2 to Ireland, €2.50 to Rest Of World)!
“I Found God” is the 25 minute, 9 track album by Dublin recluse Chris Nolan. He writes and records lo-fi grunge-pop in his home, and I am lucky enough to put out his first release. This very limited CD-R release, comes packed with a lovely full colour A4 poster and insert. Every item included is hand numbered, and the release is limited to 25 copies. 25! You aughta get one if you like what you hear. Download the album for free from this link.
Aidan here with some news. I’d like to start by thanking anyone who bought a copy of Hipster Youth‘s Teenage Elders, which is now sold out (unless I said I’d hold onto one for you). If you missed out on a copy, it is of course available for free download here.
The next release on the label is gonna be Desperadow‘s “I Found God” (LST002). I’m really happy to be putting out Desperadow‘s debut CD-R, which is a collection of lo-fi gruge inspired pop gems. The 9 track album will be released soon (once I sort out the packaging). It’s gonna be a very limited run (around 20-30 copies), so if you’re interested in getting one, email me (arse.on.toast[at]gmail.com) with “Desperadow” somewhere in the title. Listen to a track from it at the Long Lost SoundCloud page.
Also just posted on the Long Lost SoundCloud page is a new track from Porn On Vinyl‘s incoming second album “Old Folks’ Home”. This release is nearing completion, with just one song left to record, but will probably be out officially in a few months. The track is called “Song for a dead poet”, check it out!
“Teenage Elders” is the debut album by 19 year old Dubliner Aidan Wall (also behind Porn On Vinyl). Available on a limited run of 50 CD-Rs, each hand numbered and packaged with a limited A3 Poster.
